A 10 minute drive inland takes you to Guia, which is famous for its many chicken piri-piri restaurants.
The area is very flat and comprises a series of adjoining villages with mostly expensive villas, although there are a few 4 or 5 star hotels in the area offering entertainment.
Galé, São Rafael and Castello are well known for their superb restaurants, some of which can be found in the rocky sandy coves that are a special characteristic of this area.
The rock formations are much appreciated by artists and photographers. In contrast to the coves, Galé Beach is a long sandy bay offering many water sports and of course good fish restaurants.
