Frigiliana Heights is situated on the edge of the old quarter of the village.This brand new 2 bedroomed apartment is comfortably furnished and equipped to a high standard, it has a large balcony with stunning views over the countryside down to the sea.On entering the apartment, there is a spacious hallway which leads to a large lounge/dining area. The separate kitchen leads off the lounge area it is beautifully tiled and very well equipped allowing our guests to cook and enjoy the delicious local produce. This room also has a large wardrobe with plenty of room for your belongings, night table & lamp, mirror and paintings. All bed linen, duvets and blankets are supplied. There is a large bathroom consisting of 4-piece suite with shower over the bath. Ample bathroom towels are supplied. The apartment has a large south facing furnished balcony which gets the sun all day and has fantastic views down to the coast and Nerja. The apartment comes with the use of a communal swimming pool, only available to Frigiliana Heights residents and guests. The pool area is tastefully decorated with plants and greenery and affords a view right down the valley. It consists of a large pool with Jacuzzi, showers, toilet and changing facilities. The apartment is accessed via steps (53) and therefore is not suitable for people with mobility problems. There is car parking is available on the road in front of the apartment.

Area information:	Frigiliana is located 60 km east of Malaga in southern Spain. The village is 435 metres above sea level and 6 km from the sea. Having the mildest climate in Europe, frost is unknown in this area with more than 300 days of sunshine. Winter is just wonderful and less than 3 hours flight time from most British airports. Frigiliana is an ancient and historic whitewashed mountain village, pueblo blanco, of exceptional beauty and charm, situated in the lower slopes of the Sierra Almijara mountain range behind Nerja. Built into the steep hillside on Moorish foundations, the old cobbled streets, so narrow as to restrict the passage of traffic, are lined with pretty flower-filled windows, alleys and doorways. Water flows freely from the majestic Sierra mountain ranges behind and is used for irrigation of the rich, terraced land which falls away from the village down to the sea. Frigiliana village is just ten minutes' drive away from the beach at Nerja. Frigiliana has won several awards as the prettiest village in Andaluc�a. It is a clean and prosperous working village whose livelihood is based largely on the local agriculture. Olive oil is pressed and sold here, as well as moscatel wine, dried figs, molasses and delicious honey. Village life is simple yet well catered for with a local baker, fishmonger, butcher, pharmacy, tobacconist, and wine-merchant as well as several small general grocers and craft shops which provide some village gossip along with your provisions. The villagers are family oriented, respectful, kind and very welcoming. The local bank has the essential cash machine. Numerous bars and restaurants in the village and the nearby countryside serve good, unpretentious local food. Lovely walks are to be made throughout the surrounding countryside, full of interest for birdwatchers, botanists and artists. One can walk along the ancient Phoenician acequias (irrigation channels) which snake around the rugged mountainsides behind, still bringing fresh water to the village below as they have done for thousands of years. The dramatic gorge too can be explored along the bed of the river Higueron back into the massive feet of the Sierra Almijara mountain range rising behind the village. The pueblos blancos of Frigiliana, C�mpeta, and Torrox form the Ruta de Vinos of Axarquia, each producing their own brand of vino del terreno from the moscatel grape. Nerja, on the coast below Frigiliana, is a 10 minute drive downhill. Nerja is a Spanish town, with a wonderful charm and plenty of places to eat, drink and enjoy yourself. You can stroll through the narrow whitewashed streets, or simply sit in the sun in one of the traditional Tapas bars and restaurants. In the heart of the old town you will find the Balcon de Europa stretching out into the shimmering Mediterranean. The Cuevas de Nerja, a really remarkable and famous set of vast caves, and the renowned Balcon de Europa promenade high above the sea - planted with ancient palm trees, marvellous views of the coast and the encircling mountains - must both be visited. There are several beautiful beaches in Nerja, Burriana beach is the main stretch; 1km long with beachfront bars, restaurants and watersports. There are numerous other beaches and coves stretching through the town, all with their own bars, cafes and entertainment, whilst many delightful smaller beaches down tracks further to the east are still quite unsophisticated. There is a naturist beach about 20 minutes' drive away. Tennis can be played in Nerja and horse riding is available in the valleys around Frigiliana. Golf, sailing, hang-paragliding, scuba diving, mountain biking, petanque are all enjoyed locally. There are two golf courses, both 30 minutes drive away, at Motril and Rincon. As soon as you drive into the country from the coast you begin to discover the Spain that has remained totally unspoilt for centuries. Andaluc�a offers so much beauty and magic, the landscape is astounding and varied, driving is easy and the vast panoramas are endless - from towering mountain peaks, glimpses of snow-capped Sierras, endless olive groves and agricultural smallholdings, barren arid areas, pine forests to tropical beaches.
