The La Manga strip is a narrow stretch of land with an average width of 300 meters and 22 kilometers long, it almost reaches the mainland, this creates the lagoon known as the Mar Minor. This is the largest salt water lagoon in Europe with a maximum depth of 7 metres. The calm waters make it ideal for a wide range of water sports. The waters have therapeutic qualities with mud and clay deposits which contain natural minerals, the healing properties are said to
relieve skin complaints. The anti-inflammatory effect is also beneficial for those suffering arthritis and rheumatism.

Cabo de Palos on Sundays opposite the Upper supermarket, walk down the rough track for a few minutes………it’s buzzing you can’t miss it.
The area boasts mild winters and low rainfall and over 3000 hours of sunshine each year.
The Mar Minor a lagoon near the Mediterranean sea, it is seperated by land 22kms long called the La Manga strip.
Full of mineral salts it is renowned for its therapeutic properties. If you suffer arthritis go and bathe in its warm waters and apply the mud, it’s sure to do you good.
